Privacy Policy

VibeBooth ("the app", "we") is a photo booth app that renders decorative frames over your camera and saves the composited photos. The app is local-first and does not require an account — we do not collect your name, email, or password.

This page explains what limited data the app handles and why.

1. Photos & Camera

  • Photos you take or import are processed and stored locally on your device (in the app's private storage). They are not uploaded to our servers.
  • With your permission, you may save composited photos to your device's photo library, and import existing photos from it.
  • Deleting the app removes the photos it stored in its private storage.

Permissions used: Camera (to take photos) and Photo Library (to import and save photos).

2. Anonymous Usage Analytics

To understand how many people use the app, on launch we send a randomly generated, on-device identifier (a UUID) and your platform (iOS/Android) to our backend (Supabase). This identifier is not linked to your identity and is used only to count unique and active devices. We do not collect contact details, contacts, precise location, or browsing history.

3. Crash & Error Diagnostics

We use Sentry to detect crashes and errors so we can fix them. We have configured Sentry to not attach personal information (such as IP address or email) and we do not record your screen (session replay is disabled). Crash reports are associated only with the anonymous device identifier above. Sentry's privacy policy: sentry.io/privacy.

4. Advertising

We show ads using Google AdMob. On iOS, before any tracking we ask for your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt:

  • If you allow tracking, the advertising identifier (IDFA) may be used to show more relevant ads.
  • If you decline, you still see ads, but they are non-personalized.

Google may collect data through its ad SDK as described in Google's own privacy and advertising policies.

5. Search Features

When you search for a place or a song inside the app, your search text is sent to the corresponding provider to return results:

  • Google Places — place/venue search (proxied through our backend).
  • Spotify — music track search (proxied through our backend).

These queries are used only to return search results and are not stored by us beyond what is needed to serve the request.

6. Third-Party Services

We rely on a few third-party providers to operate the app:

  • Advertising — Google AdMob.
  • Crash & error diagnostics — Sentry.
  • App backend & anonymous analytics — Supabase.
  • In-app search — Google Places and Spotify.

These providers receive only the limited data described in the sections above (e.g. the advertising identifier with your consent, the anonymous device identifier, crash diagnostics, or the search text you enter). We do not share your photos or contact details with them.

7. Children's Privacy

VibeBooth is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Data Retention & Your Choices

  • Photos remain on your device under your control; uninstalling the app deletes them.
  • The anonymous device identifier contains no personal information. To request deletion of your device's analytics row, contact us using the details below.
  • You can change Camera, Photo Library, and Tracking permissions at any time in your device's Settings.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date.
